Developing a Morning Routine Can Help You Achieve Your Goals

We all know that feeling of getting up on the wrong foot and having a terrible day as a result. The mindset we have in the morning usually sticks throughout the day, so why not make sure you set yourself up for having a great day every day?

Whether your intention is to manage your time better or simply be a little bit happier, a morning routine tailored to your needs and preferences can help you achieve your goals.

The routine can be anything from 15-90 minutes, depending on what suits your unique needs and lifestyle. We do recommend trying at least a 30-minute routine to get the maximum benefits, but even 15 minutes is a great start.

So, what should a morning routine look like? Well, the most fun thing about creating your routine is that you get to tailor it exactly to your own preference! Some suggestions that many people have found helpful include:

Meditation – even a 10-minute meditation in the morning can help you to stay calm and focused throughout the day, and increase your productivity

Affirmations – listening to encouraging affirmations in the morning is a great way to set a positive tone for your day

Breakfast – for some people just having a quiet breakfast and enjoying their cup of coffee in silence is the perfect way to start the day off

There are many different activities you can include in your morning routine, you could also try some light exercise, journaling, stretching – anything that makes you feel good and energises you for the day ahead.

It may be tempting to try everything all at once – or you may feel intimidated by the infinite options! We recommend you start with trying just one thing at a time. If journaling sounds like your jam, great! If you feel more drawn towards affirmations – that’s awesome! Pick one activity that you think you would enjoy and try doing it every morning out for a week or two.

Once you have made it into a routine, you can try adding another activity. You can mix and match activities and see what works best for you. Look at finding your routine as an exciting journey towards increasing your quality of life!
